Tonya Lovas, Founder
Tonya Lovas is no stranger to office management. Diving deep into the construction industry at a young age, Tonya became the backbone of her father’s high-end construction company, handling detailed proposals, formal contracts, change orders, bookkeeping, and job costing without a hitch. As Tonya completed college business courses, she couldn’t help but see the inevitable struggle that small business owners experience in order to start and maintain a business.
After spending 20 years helping small businesses with accounting and bookkeeping practices, Tonya sparked a business idea that would soon come to fruition as GYST Business Solutions. Tonya always wondered: What can I do to help these owners take their businesses to the next level?
By offering a full array of business services, GYST Business Solutions is able to help business owners maintain a professional image while growing their companies. Tonya loves to see companies develop and thrive in the local San Diego area. She is a seasoned professional in QuickBooks, Microsoft programs, and multiple time and productivity applications used by various clients. Tonya is also a Notary Public and available to notarize by appointment.

Renee Merrill, Director of Operations
Renee Merrill doesn’t shy away when it comes to business. With a passion for marketing and entrepreneurship, it’s no surprise that Renee recalls scheming up business ideas with her siblings, and asking relatives to become investors. Years later, Renee has had an extensive range of business experience from teaching international college students to owning an online marketing company.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Renee is a firm believer in ‘knowledge is power.’ She is currently a Lecturer at San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business and enjoys working with students and business owners alike. Renee also loves to help out professional organizations in San Diego and holds leadership positions with Azteca Toastmasters and Ad 2 San Diego.
Renee has joined GYST Business Solutions to create and implement systems for new and established businesses, which allows GYST to thrive with clients of any size.
